Newsletter September/November
Autumn
is here and with it the ploughing match where we hope to meet you
at our stand near the livestock section -
Stand 142 Row J
At
this time of year when the weather is becoming more variable, warm
days with cold nights, there is always the risk of grass tetany,
so ensure that your cows both
suckling and dairy have enough magnesium in their diet to offset
their extra requirement. Magnesium can be supplied in a variety
of ways: using MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE
through the drinking water; using HIGH
MAGNESIUM mineral licks, and by feeding extra CALCINED
MAGNESITE in plain or sweetened form, through the feed.
Cell
counts
can be inclined to rise towards the end of lactation and now can
be a time, when few minerals have been fed during the summer months,
that a little supplementation can be needed to offset the declining
nutritional value of field grasses. For those of you about to begin
Autumn Calving it could be time to provide a boost of vitamins
and minerals to ensure a trouble free calving period. This can
be done through powder minerals
in the feed or by using liquid or soluble minerals in the water
supply. We have a variety of both powder
and liquid feeds that would be suitable. With OPTiMIN
trace elements in our top range of minerals greater bioavailability
is guaranteed so the benefits are gained sooner and more effectively.
We
now have available Dairy Detergents
from the New Zealand FiL range and as an introduction to this new
product we are raffling a 25l drum of Quantum
Blue Detergent, one ticket with every mineral order made
at the stand at the Ploughing Match.
Bought
in store lambs and ewes being put with the ram could also benefit
from a course of minerals to enhance their well being .
With
horses now being brought in
at night and with grass quality receeding it is time to supplement
with TOP HORSE Mineral Supplement
and for breeding stock, it is a good time to give them a boost with
DOUBLE E.
All the above are available
direct from us at:
BOB ALLEN
(Nutritional Supplements) Ltd.
We hope to be
able to update this newsletter regularly to bring you details of
what is available for you livestock at the relevant time of year.
Bye for now
